Which points will affect the choice of hot runner nipple of mould such as PET Preoform Mould

What will affect the choice of hot runner of moulds(such as PET Preform Mould)? There are some points as following: plastic component’s quality, component’s design, raw material, mould, cycling time, gate, nozzle, runner, temperature controller, function of plastic injection machine, etc. We will choose suitable hot runner nipple for molds (such as PET Preform mould) while we know all those points very well.

1.     Quality and weight of plastic products. Different weight of plastic part has different demand of hot runner.

2.     Raw material of plastic part, different raw material has different production process variable that will affect the choice of hot runner system.

3.     Mold itself has how many cavity? How about the distance between each spray nozzle? Which raw material will produce?  All of them are very important factors.

4.     Cycle time, rapid cycling time needs very high precise durable nipple which transfer heat quality faster. For example, nowadays, more and more clients desire PET perform mould’s cycle time is less than 15S. In this case, PET perform moulds should adopt best hot runner and valve gate.

5.     Gate,  the nipple of moulds with pinpoint gate should have function of melting material and cold sealing gate  to keep good thermal equilibrium. However, molds with valve gate like PET Preform mould adopt mechanical method to seal gate.

6.     Runner, using of hot runner avoid the material tail to save raw material and no need cutting, no need taking PET performs by robot to save labor force.

7.     Temperature control, every nipple of PET perform moulds should be connected by compared complexly temperature controller.

8.     Design of plastic component, we know that 3D drawing was finished firstly, and final forming is finished in hot runner system. Should considering the structure of part to assure good polish and smooth surface while finish forming.
